The AC was found in May 2019 following the release of exclusive agencies by Nationwide Insurance Company. The released agencies required a new operational platform to continue writing business and The AC stepped in to fill that need providing carrier access, technology systems, consulting, education and training.

Since its founding, The AC has grown into a national powerhouse. According to Insurance Journal, The AC ranked as the 5th largest agency in the U.S. by total revenues at $547.7 million (including commissions and fees) across their 4,000 member agencies. Collectively, they produce over $3 billion in written premium (admitted and non-admitted) through leading insurers and wholesalers. By leveraging economies of scale, each agency can utilize The AC's size to access more favorable terms in the marketplace than they would be able to independently.

As an added benefit, The AC provides its members with first-in-class-technology and systems to run their business. The AC knows each individual agency's time is spent most productively when they are in the field producing business. Because of this, The AC licenses tools including CRM system, marketing, rating and management systems available for their members. Additionally, each agency member can access banking, staffing, and HR support offered by The AC.
